Say what you did yesterday—and what you didn’t do.
Coco-sensei

Learn
For the polite affirmative past, replace ます with ました. The part of the verb before ます stays the same.
| nonpast | past | |
|---|---|---|
For the polite negative past, use ませんでした: 行きませんでした means “I didn’t go.” Learn the ending as a unit. English uses “didn’t” plus a base verb; Japanese keeps the negative and past marking at the end.
