Yen · 〜円
Add 円 (えん) to an amount to express it in yen. Learn 四円 as よえん. In larger amounts, keep the number's own sound changes, such as 三千円 (さんぜんえん).

- Giving prices and amounts of money in yen. いくら is a useful general way to ask a price in a shop.
- How many?
- いくらですかHow much is it? Use 何円ですか when asking specifically how many yen.
